Who Are We?

Order of Omega is a Greek leadership honor society for members of Fraternities and Sororities both here at Case Western Reserve University and across the nation.

We recognize upperclassmen who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective chapters and within the greater Greek Community here at CWRU. Order members share the common purpose of being the driving force in creating positive change in the Greek Community by assembling the strongest possible group of leaders and giving them a platform to lead and grow.

Our Purpose

To RECOGNIZE

those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities.

To ENCOURAGE

them to continue along this line, and to INSPIRE others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment.

To BRING TOGETHER
members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness.

To UNITE

outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs.

To help CREATE

an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Order do?

The Order works to create positive change within the CWRU Greek Community. We are the driving force behind Pytte Cup and the Consulting program.

What is Pytte Cup? What is Consulting?

Pytte Cup and the Consulting programs are chapter developmental programs that the Order has put together to assist in the growth and sustainability of Greek Life here on campus. We support chapters development along the four Greek pillars of Scholarship, Ritual, Citizenship, and Ritual.

Who does the Order work with?

The Order works closely with all chapters of the Greek community, IFC/PHC, as well as Mark Starr to bring active voices of change to our community.

How do I join the Order?

Current sophomores, juniors, or seniors that have exemplified the ideals of a leader in the CWRU Greek community are able to become a member of the Order. Visit our 'Join the Order' tab to learn more about the application and recruitment process.

  • What is the Emergency Dues Fund?

The Emergency Dues Fund (EDF) helps members of the Greek community who are in financial distress pay their chapter dues. This is not a scholarship, but an emergency fund for students who find themselves in unplanned financial distress from events such as injury, death of the family member causing financial hardship, or other unplanned financial emergencies that would make the applicant unable to pay their dues. Because of the nature of most Greek organizations, an inability to pay dues will result in the person having to drop out of the organization - usually meaning they are never able to re-join.

A past recipient of EDF said:

"Without the EDF, I would have been left with no way to meet the financial obligations of my sorority. I have always paid my own dues out of pocket, and at the very beginning of the semester I lost my campus work-study job. This made it impossible to pay my dues without causing myself a great deal of financial distress. The EDF helped me out of a tough situation and allowed me to continue participating in the sorority I love."

  • What is Pytte Cup?

Pytte Cup is half of the Order's developmental programming and aims to support chapter's and their leaders by utilizing a reflection process to achieve specific long-term goals with relation to the four Greek pillars: scholarship, ritual, citizenship, and leadership. Chapter's undergo individual modules to assist with outlining where they are (their current atmosphere, chapter engagement, involvement), where they hope to go (their ideal endpoint), how they will get from where they are to where they want to be (their action plan and milestones), and finally a reflection on the learning process (self and chapter reflection). The Pytte Cup process culminates in a presentation to the Order and Greek Life Office, where evaluators give honors to each chapter and bestow these formally during Giortaste.

Any chapter is welcome to reach out to the Order to get involved with our developmental programming. Some past topics that have been extensively discussed within Pytte Cup have varied widely throughout the years, but some recent examples include creating sustainable internal practices, increasing meaning and involvement within service and citizenship, and creating a meaningful new-member education program fro incoming brothers and sisters within their chapter.

Visit the our Pytte Cup page for more information on the program as well as view resources and important dates for current Pytte Cup Chairs.

  • What is the Consulting Program?

The Consulting program is half of the Order's developmental programming and aims to support chapters and their leaders by providing them with consultants to provide a space of community, feedback, and reflection on a myriad of short-term items. Through the Order's shared leadership experience, consulting helps guide chapters and provides multiple possible approaches to areas of concern they may be facing with respect to their chapter and each of the four Greek pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, and Ritual.

Any chapter is welcome to reach out to the Order to get involved with our developmental programming. Some past topics that have been extensively discussed within the Consulting program include increasing brotherhood/sisterhood during virtual chapter programming, maintaining engagement with older members of the chapter, how to discuss shared values, and navigating ritual as a tool for reflection and growth.
