Join us on April 28 at 4 p.m. ET via Zoom as part of the Case Western Reserve University Entrepreneurship Series for a Roundtable Discussion with Paige Cramer Lacatena, PhD, Global Director of Scientific Affairs for Anesthesia and Perioperative care at Merck. She will discuss her journey from doing major medical research at CWRU to joining a global biopharmaceutical company.

Lacatena joined Merck in 2016. Prior to working at Merck, she co-founded ReXceptor, Inc. to repurpose an oncology medication for Alzheimer’s disease treatment. She was named one of the Forbes 30 under 30 for healthcare in 2012 and 2013 for this work. In 2012, Lacatena earned her PhD in neuroscience from the CWRU School of Medicine.

Paige Lacatena is the Global Director of Scientific Affairs for Anesthesia and Perioperative Care for Merck and Co, Inc. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience from Case Western Reserve University in 2012, and prior to joining Merck, she co-founded ReXceptor, Inc. to repurpose an oncology medication for Alzheimer’s disease treatment. She was named one of the Forbes 30 under 30 for healthcare in 2012 and 2013 for this work. After joining Merck, she spent 4 years in early discovery neuroscience bench research before being accepted into Merck’s talent program, the Global Management and Acceleration Program in 2016 where she spent a year in the human health organization in global marketing supporting Merck’s late stage Alzheimer’s disease asset, verubecestat and another year living in Zurich, Switzerland where she was part of the finance planning and analysis organization, supporting business development in the Balkans, Greece and Northern Africa.
