Details
Welcome to our new students, some of whom have traveled from other countries to study here. The beginning of the Fall semester is nearly upon us. We invite all new and returning CPSC students, as well as recent graduates, to join the CPSC faculty to kick off the new year together in a peaceful natural setting. This is a tradition that first year students report as very helpful in connecting since CPSC students are not all together in the same classes in the first year.
The retreat will take place on Thursday afternoon, August 24, at the CWRU Squire Valleevue Farm (lower farm). A free CWRU shuttle bus will leave the Mandel School at 1:00 and return back to the Mandel School by 5:30).
This is an outdoor event that includes sharing a potluck meal, learning more about the CPSC concentration and about our Cleveland community and an optional hike. Please also let us know what you would like to contribute to the meal.
Transportation will be provided. As noted, the bus will leave in front of the Mandel School Building at Ford and Bellflower at 1:00 pm so plan on arriving no later than 12:45 pm. After the retreat, the bus will bring students back from the farm at 5:00 pm to arrive back on campus around 5:30 pm.
If you can only come for part of the time, you are still welcome. If you are not able to take the Case shuttle bus due to schedule, and would like to drive, please let me know. The lower farm can only have a limited number of vehicles on site. I will provide you with driving directions--this is not the Squire Valleevue Farm that is better known, but the lower farm off the beaten path and more difficult to find.
