"Spiz" Film Screening and Discussion

The Wrongful Convictions Club will host a free film screening of "Spiz", followed by a discussion and Q& A with the subject of the film, exoneree Dean Gillispie, and the filmmaker, Barry Rowen, on November 14 at 6:30 PM in the Eldred Theater. The 40-minute film depicts the wrongful conviction of Dean Gillispie, who served 20 years in prison for crimes he did not commit and was successfully exonerated by the Ohio Innocence Project. Through the lived experience, art, and words of Dean, "Spiz" examines the causes and effects of wrongfully convicting American citizens. Join us for this unique opportunity to learn more about wrongful convictions and engage in an insightful conversation with Dean Gillispie and filmmaker Barry Rowen.
