Join us in celebrating the Latinx/e community at CWRU as we welcome the beginning of Hispanic Heritage month! Enjoy Latin American food and dance performances!
We will feature Abrepaso Flamenco in an engaging presentation with the audience!
Alice Blumenfeld and Felise Bagley of Abrepaso Flamenco will be sharing how they create new entry points and new pathways within flamenco. They will share some of their previous work together, excerpts of their current project in-process, and invite the audience to participate in making a dance with them. Their current project draws from Spanish artists of the Generación del '27, focusing on Picasso's Guernica and poetry by Federico García Lorca. Their work is emblematic of how dialogue, conversation, partnership, and the friction therein creates space for new discoveries in movement.
