The BLSA Sankofa celebration is a meaningful annual event to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of graduating 3Ls. The word "Sankofa," which comes from the Akan people of Ghana, means "go back and fetch it," symbolizing the importance of learning from the past to shape the future. This celebration serves as a powerful moment for reflection, cultural pride, and unity among Black law students. It recognizes the hard work and resilience of the graduating class while fostering a sense of community and solidarity within the legal profession.
