As members of BSNA, our mission is to foster the well-being of nurses and student nurses of color by creating a supportive space where they are both seen and heard. More than just a campus organization, BSNA is a catalyst for change, advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing. We strive to inspire and uplift underrepresented communities, providing hope and pathways for future generations to pursue careers in nursing.
Our BSNA group at CWRU provides members with opportunities to apply their nursing skills beyond the classroom and make a meaningful impact in the community. One of our upcoming initiatives involves visiting local schools to teach children essential health and wellness skills. For example, as part of our focus on nutrition, we plan to host interactive cooking classes where we will not only demonstrate how to prepare simple, healthy meals but also educate students on the importance of balanced nutrition. Through engaging activities, hands-on learning, and discussions on making smart food choices, we hope to empower kids with knowledge that can positively influence their lifelong health habits.
