This staple event hosted by the Black Student Union, commemorates the remarkable achievement of Black graduates This momentous occasion not only celebrates these students’ dedication to obtaining their diplomas, but it also honors the sacrifices of previous generations who have forged their path in accessing educational opportunity. This event aligns with the primary goals of BSU which is to cultivate community and create a strong network between Black undergraduates, graduates, staff, faculty and organizations at surrounding universities. As graduates begin their transition into post-graduation plans it is increasingly important to showcase CWRU’s support of their future endeavors. The ceremony helps us do this by acknowledging the accomplishments of these students while also unifying a variety of networks (other Black graduating students, alumni, faculty, and staff) that may prove beneficial in their future aspirations.
