Details
Site Details: Church of the Covenant provides a spiritual home for many students, faculty, and staff. Their building is over 100 years old and provides many resources for the community. The church provides a free community meal at the end of the month and needs volunteers to assist in serving and preparation, and CCEL is also offering the opportunity for CWRU students to work with kids during worship services.
Service Information: Child care is provided for infants, toddlers, and pre-K children in the Church's Crèche. Infants and toddlers can be dropped off prior to the service. Children pre-K through 5th grade are welcome to start in worship with their parents and leave after A Time for Young Disciples to go to the Crèche for their lessons, crafts and other activities. Older students from 6th through twelfth grades will join in worship every Sunday and youth events after worship. Volunteers should dress modestly (no short shorts, tank tops, revealing clothing) as they will be working directly with community members. Volunteers should be comfortable working with children and in a Christian church-centered environment.
Time Commitment: This site requires a weekly commitment for one semester and takes place on Sundays from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm. Students will meet at CCEL and walk over to the Church together. Registered students commit to volunteering on Sundays from September 6 through December 6; no volunteering on October 18 or November 29.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
