Details

Site Details: The Charlie Comella Urban Farm at Trinity Cathedral was founded in 2006 to raise healthy vegetables, fruits and herbs to be donated to the homeless and hungry populations in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. To date, they have harvested over 40,000 of food, 100% of which has been donated to hunger programs in our city.

Service Details: Volunteers are needed to assist with early spring cleanup of the urban farm. This may include clearing the farm of sticks and debris prior to mowing, mixing leaf compost into raised beds, and turning over and raking raised beds.

When + Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office at 8:40 a.m. and return to campus by 12:40 p.m. Transportation is provided to the site via RTA, accompanied by a CCEL student leader.

Waiting List + Cancellation Policy:

  • If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
  • Upon registering, please do your best to honor the commitment you've made to this activity.
  • If you are no longer able to attend, please delete your registration in Campus Groups as soon as possible. If your cancellation is within 48 hours, please email serves@case.edu as soon as possible to inform CCEL staff - less than 24 hours will be considered an unexcused absence.
  • Not notifying our staff of absences or too many absences in one semester may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
