Details

Site Details:  In operation since 1988, FrontLine Service provides the largest and most comprehensive continuum of care for homeless persons in Ohio. Our homeless assistance programs provide assertive street outreach, coordinated intake to the county’s emergency shelters, temporary housing, case management, psychiatric and drug and alcohol programming for individuals with co-occurring disorders, and permanent supportive housing. FrontLine Service provides integrated primary and behavioral healthcare to individuals with severe mental illness who are unhoused to address their unmet healthcare needs.

Service Details: Students will participate in the Servant Leadership CLE pilot program, a partnership between CCEL and the CWRU Celia Scott Weatherhead Leadership Institute. Students will engage in service at the Frontline Service Safe Haven Program in Tremont, organizing donations inside and working on an outdoor landscaping beautification project. Along the way, students will explore complex issues such as chronic homelessness and mental illness while participating in reflection and growing their understanding of leadership.

When + Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office (TVUC #165) at 12:30 pm and return to campus by 4:00 pm. Transportation is provided to the site in a CCEL van driven by a CWRU staff or faculty member.

Waiting List + Cancellation Policy:
  • If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
  • Upon registering, please do your best to honor the commitment you've made to this activity.
  • If you are no longer able to attend, please delete your registration in Campus Groups as soon as possible. If your cancellation is within 48 hours, please email serves@case.edu as soon as possible to inform CCEL staff - less than 24 hours will be considered an unexcused absence.
  • Not notifying our staff of absences or too many absences in one semester may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
