Site Information:  AdvantageCLE provides learning opportunities to children in urban areas. Volunteers are needed to work with groups of youth in grades 5-8 after school at Campus International School in the Midtown neighborhood. In a separate arm of the organization, AdvantageCLE provides tennis lessons and wellness activities to these same children.

Service Information: Volunteers will focus on literacy intervention, wellness, homework help, and hands-on activities. While helpful, volunteers do not need prior tutoring experience.

Time Commitment: This site requires a weekly commitment for one semester and takes place on Wednesdays from 2:10-4:10 pm, which includes transportation time. Transportation is provided and the activity is led by a CCEL Student Leader. Registered students will volunteer every Wednesday from September 9 through December 2; no tutoring on Nov. 11 or Nov. 25.

Pre-Service Requirement: a background check is required to volunteer at this site. Once you register, you will receive more information on how to complete the background check at no cost to you. Results must be received before you can start service.

Waiting List: If you are interested in volunteering weekly with this service activity but the registration is full, you may join the wait list by emailing sxc1207@case.edu. Please make sure you note which activity you want to join the wait list for in your email.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
