Need to drop off your Absentee (Vote-by-Mail) ballot for the November election?
The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning will sponsor van trips for CWRU students needing transportation to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to drop off their Absentee (Vote-by-Mail) ballot for the general election.
Additional Details
- All students interested in riding in a van must register 24 hours in advance on CampusGroups.
- Absentee (Vote-by-Mail) ballots must be fully sealed before entering the CCEL office for a van trip.
- Because you will be dropping it off in-person, you do not need to put postage stamps on the envelope.
- Students must drop off their own ballot at the Board of Elections. Please see Ohio's Secretary of State's website for specific Ohio rules for handling ballots. Only you may place your own ballot in the drop-box. Only a near relative* may deliver your ballot to the board of elections for you - although they may not put it in the drop-box. The person delivering the ballot for a family member or disabled voter must complete an attestation form inside the county board of elections office. **Near relative includes the voter’s spouse or the voter’s father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, brother, or sister of the whole or half blood, or the son, daughter, adopting parent, adopted child, stepparent, stepchild, uncle, aunt, nephew, or niece.
*Exact time for trips may vary, depending on traffic at the Board of Elections. Please be prepared to wait, if necessary. For more information on van trips, contact CCEL at 216-368-6960 or commservice@case.edu
