Details
Service Information: Volunteers will work with groups of young people to provide homework help or guide youth in literacy, STEM, or related skill-building activities and games in a library setting. While helpful, volunteers do not need to have prior experience in providing academic assistance to youth.
Time commitment: This site requires a weekly commitment for one semester and takes place on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 5:15 pm, which includes transportation time. Transportation is provided and the activity is led by a CCEL Student Leader. Registered students will volunteer every Wednesday from September 9 through December 2; no volunteering on Nov. 25.
Pre-Service Requirement: a background check is required to volunteer at this site. Once you register, you will receive more information on how to complete the background check at no cost to you. Results must be received before you can start service.
