Blood Drive September 14 and 15 in Thwing Ballroom

The American Red Cross will be in the Thwing Ballroom to collect blood donations on Sept. 14 and 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day! All donors who come to give will receive a FREE T-shirt, while supplies last! 

Approximately 900 pints of blood are needed daily to meet the needs of Northeast Ohio hospitals and medical institutions and each pint of blood can save up to three lives. Donors are highly encouraged to make an appointment online versus walk-in, to assure a smooth process with enough time and space for registration and donation. 

Donors can save lives in less time by taking advantage of the RapidPass system to complete their health history online before they donate. RapidPass must be completed on the day of donation and does not replace making an appointment. Other important information to know:

• Blood donations are tested for COVID-19 antibodies and donors receive their results 7 to 10 days after donation.
• There is no wait time after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine as long as the donor is feeling well the day of donation and knows which type of vaccine they received.
