Site Details: Bounce Back aims to empower youth at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center by using sports as a tool to broaden their perspectives and build positive connections. Through a variety of athletic activities, we aim to promote teamwork, resilience, and personal growth. Our vision is to create a supportive environment where sports serve not just as recreation, but as a catalyst for learning, growth, and a more positive future.
Service Details: Join the CWRU student organization Bounce Back at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center to engage with both male and female residents in various athletic activities. Both genders of residents will be present during the athletic activities. Students will receive information ahead of time about having a background check done at the JDC - transportation will be coordinated by student organizers of Bounce Back.
When + Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office at 9:15 a.m. and return to campus by 11:45 a.m. Volunteers will travel to the site together in personal vehicles driven by student organizers of the Bounce Back student organization.
Waiting List + Cancellation Policy:
- If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
- Upon registering, please do your best to honor the commitment you've made to this activity.
- If you are no longer able to attend, please delete your registration in Campus Groups as soon as possible. If your cancellation is within 48 hours, please email serves@case.edu as soon as possible to inform CCEL staff - less than 24 hours will be considered an unexcused absence.
- Not notifying our staff of absences or too many absences in one semester may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.
Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
