Details

Site Description: Transplant House of Cleveland provides affordable, temporary housing and a welcoming, supportive community to organ transplant patients and their families. Only 4% of US medical centers have organ transplant programs, and most people requiring a transplant as treatment for end-stage organ disease have to travel far away from home to receive that care. This travel is complicated and burdensome, emotionally, logistically, and financially. Transplant House eases this burden.

Service Description: Help us create a welcoming and uplifting environment by participating in outdoor beautification projects around our building. Volunteers in this role assist with tasks such as picking up litter, tending to landscaping, sweeping walkways, and enhancing shared outdoor spaces (cleaning windows and or porches). This hands-on opportunity is perfect for those who enjoy being outside, working with their hands, and making a visible impact. Your efforts help ensure our space feels clean, cared for, and inviting for every guest who arrives.

When + Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office at 10:30 am and will return to campus by 2:15 pm. Volunteers will travel together to the site with a CCEL student leader via walking (approx. 0.4 mi, 9 min).

Waiting List + Cancellation Policy:

  • If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
  • Upon registering, please do your best to honor the commitment you've made to this activity.
  • If you are no longer able to attend, please delete your registration in Campus Groups as soon as possible. If your cancellation is within 48 hours, please email serves@case.edu as soon as possible to inform CCEL staff - less than 24 hours will be considered an unexcused absence.
  • Not notifying our staff of absences or too many absences in one semester may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
