Details
Site Description: Project Sunshine is a CWRU student organization. The mission of Project Sunshine is to deliver the healing power of play to children with medical needs through trained and dedicated volunteers.
Service Description: We will be making Sunshine Kits. The materials spark joy and provide therapeutic value to the physical and emotional healing process. Project Sunshine volunteers prepare individualized kits, complete with developmentally specific activities for pediatric patients in the hospital. Designed by child life specialists, Kits for Play not only alleviate boredom; they spark the imagination and create a sense of connectedness.
When + Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Multipurpose Room (North Side) at 12:00 pm and will finish volunteering by 4:00 pm.
Waiting List + Cancellation Policy:
- If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
- Upon registering, please do your best to honor the commitment you've made to this activity.
- If you are no longer able to attend, please delete your registration in Campus Groups as soon as possible. If your cancellation is within 48 hours, please email serves@case.edu as soon as possible to inform CCEL staff - less than 24 hours will be considered an unexcused absence.
- Not notifying our staff of absences or too many absences in one semester may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.
Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
