Site Description: The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers. A nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need, the Hope Lodge offers a supportive, homelike environment where guests can share a meal, join in the evening’s activities, or unwind in their own private room. Patients staying at a Hope Lodge are in active cancer treatment.

Service Description:  Volunteers will clean out the Hope Lodge kitchen, wiping out drawers and cabinets and reorganizing everything. Other minor cleaning projects may also be requested. Please note: All Hope Lodge guests are immunocompromised, so if any volunteers are sick or symptomatic, they should not attend.

When/Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office (TVUC #165) at 9:30 am. and return to campus by 1:15 pm. Volunteers will travel together to the site with a CCEL Student Leader.

Wait List/Cancelations: If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
If you sign up for this activity, please do everything you can to honor your commitment. If you are no longer able to attend, please inform CCEL 48 hours or more before the start time by emailing serves@case.edu. Not doing so may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
