The Center for Civic Engagement & Learning (CCEL) student Executive Council invites you to take part in a virtual discussion on policies and politics in Cleveland. As elections draw near, it’s important for voters to be nationally as well as locally aware and engaged. Learn from panelists working at the intersection of policy, politics, and research in the Cleveland area about how policy is shaped, the influence of research in policy creation, and ways in which students can engage in the policy change process. Please check your CampusGroups reminder email that you’ll receive after registering for the Zoom connection details.

Panelists include:
  • Gregory Brown - Executive Director of PolicyBridge, a nonpartisan, African American led public policy think tank in Cleveland
  • Olivia Ortega - CWRU alum & Director of Government Advocacy at the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the largest metropolitan chamber of commerce in the nation
  • Zach Schiller - Research Director at Policy Matters Ohio, a statewide non-profit policy research institute with offices in Cleveland and Columbus
