Jeni Panhorst: Sustainable Edge Computing for a Better Tomorrow (Attachment)
On 4/28 from 1-2PM at Nord 356, Jeni Panhorst, a CWRU alum and the VP & Head of Sustainability for the Network & Edge Group at Intel will be coming to CWRU in person to speak to us about sustainable edge computing and her day-to-day at Intel. Quantum Computing Spring Hackathon
Case Quantum Computing Club and Case Hacker Society will co-host a hackathon Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, Ballroom A.
Students are invited to participate to learn how to program quantum computers through introductory challenges as well as in-depth projects.
Red Bull is sponsoring this event and will drop off free drinks. There also will be free food and prizes for participants.
There will be two options to participate in the hackathon. The first option is to complete the provided tutorial challenges to learn the basics of coding programs on quantum computers. Assistance will be available. Anyone who either completes these challenges or shows up and attempts them for at least an hour will earn a free Mitchell’s Ice Cream scoop coupon.
The second option is a traditional hackathon challenge that will be released at the start of the event. Students can participate in teams and the code will be due Sunday night. The winning team will win $100 worth of Amazon gift cards to be split among the team members.

ACM-W End-of-Year Event (Attachment)
Stressed out because of finals? Join ACM-W at our end-of-year celebration to fold origami, make friendship bracelets, color by numbers, play UNO, and solve jigsaw puzzles! This will be held in the Mather Center on April 24th at 7:00 pm so make sure to register on CampusGroups using the link below if you're interested. There's really no better way to destress and celebrate the end of the semester than with some pizza, fun activities, and other ACM-W members!

XLab Project Course (BTEC 400)
Applications for xLab's project course, BTEC 400, are now open! Earn college credit and build your resume while working on real innovation projects for real world clients, like Penske, Progressive Insurance, Purina, KeyBank, and more! ShowCase
HyperCase, a multidisciplinary team of students aiming to create solutions to healthcare problems, invites members of the Case Western Reserve University community to the inaugural ShowCase Sunday, April 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Strosacker Auditorium.
Throughout this round, four interdisciplinary project teams have worked on projects in the field of healthcare innovation, including medical devices and artificial intelligence solutions. The project teams have raised $5,000 in pitch competitions and will share the culmination of their work at the ShowCase. Register to attend the ShowCase.
Build a Bouquet with the Mather Center!

To celebrate Legacy week, the Mather Center will be bringing in the Blossom Flower Cart! Stop by the Mather Quad (outside of the Tink) on Thursday, April 27th from 11am-1pm. Graduating students: Nominate faculty and staff members for a Golden Ticket to convocation and celebration
Graduating students are encouraged to nominate their favorite staff and faculty members for a Golden Ticket to attend the university convocation and after-convocation celebration. While all faculty and staff members are invited to attend the university convocation, nominating individuals for Golden Tickets is a way to show appreciation and recognize the positive impact they have had on your experience at Case Western Reserve University. The university convocation is Wednesday, May 17, at 4 p.m. in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center. A celebration will follow on Freiberger Field.
Nominations are due Monday, May 15. Complete the nomination form. Those who have been nominated will be notified by the commencement office, with tickets distributed via campus mail. Learn more about commencement.
First Gen Banquet
Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to celebrate first-generation students at the second annual First Gen Banquet Sunday, April 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Thwing Center ballroom.
