Our mission is to promote awareness and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) and all sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities through our committees spanning across advocacy, mentorship and professional development, education, and social and wellness.
Case Med Pride will aim to foster community among LGBTQ+ individuals associated with the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine (SOM). We will serve as advocates for social change within our SOM and our greater communities. We will offer educational seminars and lectures to further educate all members of the medical community in treating their eventual gender and sexual minority patients. Some of these events and projects will include: - Advocate initiatives for sociopolitical change within CWRU, Cuyahoga County, the State of Ohio, and the nation. - Social events to foster community among all medical students associated with CWRU SOM or the Lerner College of Medicine. - Lectures by medical providers on topics relevant to LGBTQ+ health. - Participation in MSPA National Events as they arise. - Welcome events for accepted LGBTQ+ students and allies at Second Look Weekend.
