Guest artist Christopher J. Coles is an acclaimed saxophonist, composer, and educator based in Akron, Ohio. A graduate of Youngstown State University and the University of Akron, he has performed with jazz greats such as Slide Hampton and Sean Jones. His multimedia work Nine Lives premiered at the Rubber City Jazz and Blues Festival in 2019. Coles currently teaches at Oberlin Conservatory and The University of Akron and is a Yamaha Performing Artist.
