Dr. Sagar Shelake is a Senior Scientist at Janssen Research and Development. The speaker will discuss what they view as key opportunities, decisions, experiences, and skill development that led to their transition after their postdocs.

The goal of the Postdoc Career Series is to introduce postdocs to alternative career options outside of academia and explore new possibilities for growth.

Dr. Shelake's Bio: Sagar earned a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, India (2009), Master in Cell & Molecular Biology from University of Michigan (2011) & completed a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cancer Biology from the University of North Texas HSC, Fort Worth, TX (2017). Completed Postdoc Research Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Department of Radiology and Immunology, Baltimore where he led a research project aimed at developing bifunctional fusion proteins for cancer immunotherapies (2018) . After completing 1.5 years of postdoc training, Sagar transitioned to pharmaceutical industry. Currently, Sagar is working as a Senior Scientist in Biotherapeutics Development and Supply organization within Janssen Research and Development LLC (J&J) & leads a team of scientist for early and late-stage large molecule drug product development and commercialization.
