Join Dr. Dr. Heather Calderone, Director of Research and Grants at the American Brain Tumor Association, to discuss what they view as key opportunities, decisions, experiences, and skill development that led to their transition after their postdoc.

The goal of the Postdoc Career Series is to introduce postdocs to alternative career options outside of academia and explore new possibilities for growth.

Bio: Leaving the lab is often a difficult decision. I will share my path from postdoctoral researcher to directing a grant program at a non-profit organization, the factors that helped me to arrive at the decision to leave academia, the skills that helped me get job, and how I have grown since making the transition. I will discuss the roles and responsibilities of the work that I and my team do and how we utilize our scientific background in our work. I will also describe how we work within our own organization as well as with other organizations.

Moderator: Dr. Jonnelle Glenn, CWRU Postdoc in Cardiology
