Dear all,
To activate your CDEP card and to gain access to the AMEX website, you must call the number on the back of the card. The website activation site asks for Social Security Number and birthday and we DO NOT need that information. It is not required for this card. This also minimizes fraud should there be a data breach. We do however require you to look at your card activity online regularly (weekly is recommended, minimally monthly) to keep an eye out for fraudulent purchases. You have a limited amount of time to report fraudulent purchases so you can get a credit back. You may also be asked to give us a screenshot showing the purchase hit your CDEP card if it is not easily determined by the receipt so having access is important.
