Workshop for Preparing UGER Communication Intensive Courses

In this workshop, we will focus on preparing assignment sequences (both writing and multimodal presentations) and in-class communication workshops for UGER Communication Intensive courses. We will also practice giving feedback on student writing and presentations; session topics are below.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Session One (10am-noon): Assignment sequencing through backward design

Lunch and break (noon-12:45pm)

Session Two (12:45pm-1:45pm) Designing Writing Workshops for:

• Idea generation and scope
• Thesis statements
• Using evidence

Session Three (2pm-3pm) Responding to Student Writing Efficiently and Constructively
We will discuss and assess a student paper together
