Details
There will be a brief presentation highlighting career paths: physics opens doors for students to engage with some of the most exciting and pressing problems of the moment. The department offers four degree programs and two concentrations to allow students to tailor their educational experience to their needs and interests. Outside the classroom, physics majors are engaged in cutting-edge research on astrophysics and cosmology, quantum materials, climate science, biophysics, and medical imaging and interdisciplinary science, including art forensics and music theory.
The department has two vibrant student organizations: the Society for Physics Students (SPS) and Physics and Astronomy Club - Women and Gender Minorities (PAC-WGM). Representatives from both organizations will describe their programming.
Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for Q&A and to mingle informally with current physics majors and physics faculty.
Pizza will be served.
