Co-hosted by the Office of Faculty Development and the Center for International Affairs, this session will cover
-- common causes of miscommunication across cultures
-- strategies for mitigating confusion in cross-cultural scenarios
-- the work of experts in cross-cultural studies
and
-- how to apply their findings to our situations.

The Center for International Affairs offers the Global Talk Series as a way to support Case Western Reserve University faculty and staff in the areas of internationalization, international student support, study abroad options and more.

Assistant Director of International Student Services

Elizabeth Miller assesses current initiatives and collaborates with students and university/community partners to ensure that international students have a smooth integration to life at CWRU.

Elizabeth is a Cleveland native who graduated from the University of Toledo with a BA in Applied Math and a Minor in Spanish. She completed her MA in East Asian Studies at the University of Virginia. Elizabeth spent 8 years living in different cities throughout China, where she taught English and studied the Chinese language.
