Join us at the University Farm for a 3-week introductory series of ceramics classes in our reimagined barn-turned-studio filled with bright natural light!

Under the tutelage of Clark DiCapite, Chair of nearby Ursuline College's Department of Arts, participants in this autumn intensive workshop will develop an understanding of the fundamental skills needed to create wheel-thrown ceramic objects using both traditional and experimental processes.  In addition to creating ceramic vessels, students can expect to learn various sculptural techniques, handle and lid construction, and a variety of surface treatments and embellishments, with the goal of completing a piece to take home at the conclusion of the course.

This series of classes will take place within the Valley Ridge Farm area of the property, a tucked-away, working agricultural space that is rarely open to outside visitors! All classeswill be held in a rustic building* with minimal climate control, so we recommend dressing in layers depending on forecasted daily weather temperatures and wearing shoes that can get muddy.

Costs (including all classes and course materials) associated with this series are as follows:
  • CWRU students - $100
  • All other participants - $250

Included studio classes will run from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm on the below dates:
  • September 1st & 3rd
  • September 8th & 10th
  • September 15th & 17th
