Mission The CWRU Fencing Club is a close-knit group of students who get together to learn and practice fencing skills. We train in all three types of sword: foil, epee and sabre. While the basics are the same, each has its own special form and rules of conduct.Students of all skill levels are welcome, and equipment is provided. We compete in the Midwest Fencing Conference against other club and some varsity teams across the Midwest.Practices are held in Adelbert Gym from 6:30pm - 8:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday and Friday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Come out and give it a stab! Fencing at CWRU is a great opportunity to stay active and also meet new friends.
Membership BenefitsMembers will receive training in the Olympic sport of fencing. Members with no experience in fencing will be taught the fundamentals of fencing, and those with experience will continue to practice and learn new techniques. Members have access to borrowing club equipment if they do not have their own. Members also have access to information and resources from our conference, the Midwest Fencing Conference. In a normal year, members can also participate in tournaments against other club teams if they wish.
