Ibrahim Quagraine is a PhD student in biomedical engineering at Case Western Reserve University and co-founder of Cocoa Potash, a Ghana-based social venture transforming agricultural waste—such as cocoa husks and coconut shells—into organic potash, fertilizer, and renewable energy through a zero-waste, circular process.

Motivated by his family’s experiences in cocoa farming, Ibrahim launched Cocoa Potash alongside Ithabeleng Makhetha and Prince Baffour Agyei to create sustainable value for farmers and reduce emissions-heavy agricultural waste. Under his leadership, the company has repurposed over 80,000 tons of waste and trained more than 1,000 farmers and vulnerable individuals in sustainable farming and financial literacy.

A 2025 Hult Prize Global Accelerator semifinalist and winner of the 2023 Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition (Social Venture Track), Ibrahim combines technical innovation with social impact. His vision is to establish Cocoa Potash as a leader in green chemistry and circular economy innovation across Africa.
