Hello Everyone!

The GBSA wants to make everyone aware of some upcoming events including the first General Assembly Meeting of the semester.

Join GBSA for the first General Assembly of the semester! We will be introducing the board members and GBSA as a whole. We will also introduce the different clubs available for graduate students to join and how you can get involved.

Afterwards, head over to the Jolly Scholar for the first Grad Sync where students will get 1 free drink and a taco bar!

We are proud to introduce the GBSA Google Calendar. This calendar will include event details for the GBSA, WSOM, and graduate student clubs. The executive board will be updating the calendar as events are added, so be sure to check it regularly to stay informed throughout the year.

ETA Pitch Competition

ETA Pitch Competition: $3,500 in Prizes, Limited to 6 Teams

ETA club is excited to announce the start of another year with one of the fastest growing clubs on campus.

Do you have what it takes to identify the next great business opportunity? The ETA Club at Weatherhead invites you to compete in the ETA Pitch Competition with $3,500 in prizes and only six teams accepted.

ETA Pitch Competition | October 29th

  • Only 6 teams accepted, first come first served. 3 of the 6 teams will advance to the final on October 29th.

  • Teams of 5–7 students (graduate or undergraduate). Individuals may also register and will be matched to a team

  • Prizes: 1st Place $2,000 | 2nd Place $1,000 | 3rd Place $500

  • Coaches: Kevin and Joyce Shaw, experienced ETA investors. Kevin has acquired more than 60 companies in his career

Important: Teams must have representation at the Kickoff Event in order to compete.

ETA Club Kickoff Event | September 10th

  • Time: 4:30 – 5:30 PM

  • Location: Peter B. Lewis Building, Room to be announced

  • Food will be provided

  • Hear from Dean Andrew Medvedev, ETA Executive Director Jackie Sanders, and Professor Scot Lowry

  • Learn about the 2025–2026 ETA Club calendar, opportunities to get involved, and the announcement of Pitch Competition teams

Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) is a strategy where entrepreneurs, with investor support, acquire and manage small businesses generating $5M to $15M in revenue. Weatherhead has taught ETA for over 30 years, with more than 44 alumni becoming business owners through this pathway. The ETA Club connects students to the Northeast Ohio ETA ecosystem, providing hands-on experience, alumni engagement, and real-world learning opportunities.
