- Engineer and prototype culturally relevant, sustainable solutions to healthcare problems in Uganda -Foster a collaboration between CWRU and Makerere students -Combine different disciplines of thought to better approach global health problems -Develop cultural competency during spring break trip to test prototypes/conduct user needs finding in Uganda alongside Makerere University counterparts -Successfully maintain engineering projects until full solutions have been implemented -Have students from a variety of disciplines and degrees work together on the same projects -Technical skills: design thinking training (testing, validation), insight into medical system infrastructure, fabrication and prototyping processes -Soft skills: collaboration and communication (within team, with stakeholders/advisors), creativity, analytical thinking, empathy, project management, scientific/pitch presentation experience For more info about the teams or joining GHDC, visit our linktree!
