About Us
The mission of the Geriatrics Interest Group at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is to foster a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of geriatric medicine and to provide opportunities for professional development in the pursuit of providing care to older adults. We provide exposure to geriatrics by organizing lectures, workshops, and electives led by healthcare professionals who work with older adults. We support students interested in research on aging and facilitate hands-on learning experiences. We encourage collaboration and innovation in geriatrics by partnering with other groups and departments, promoting interdisciplinary projects, and supporting student-led initiatives. Our group aims to inspire more medical students to pursue training in geriatric-related fields to fill a growing gap in care.
