Mission
The Graduate Materials Society (GMS) is an umbrella organization for Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) student chapters of The American Ceramic Society (ACerS); The American Foundry Society (AFS); ASM International (ASM); The Materials Research Society (MRS); and The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS).
GMS exists to promote, among our members, a self-sought increasing knowledge of materials science and engineering and all its branches, and to provide a liaison between our members and the professional materials science and engineering industry. In addition, GMS provides activities for members to promote camaraderie and enjoy the greater Cleveland area.

Membership Benefits
Student benefits include access and information for local and regional materials science-related professional societies and meetings. GMS also holds several events, often with food or prizes for students, each semester to foster meaningful social and academic connections for the MSE community at CWRU.
