Fortune Bag (복주머니)
Join us for a unique and enriching experience at "Fortune Bag(복주머니)" where artistry meets tradition in the heart of GSAW Week. Located in Sears building 409 (OMA), this workshop invites graduate students to dive deep into the world of luck and fortune across cultures. Here, you'll have the opportunity to decorate your very own 복주머니 (bokjumeoni), a traditional Korean fortune bag, and paint rocks with symbols of luck and positivity from around the globe. During the event, not only will you personalize a fortune bag and create a vibrant lucky rock to place inside it, but you'll also engage in a captivating presentation about various symbols of fortune from different cultures. This experience is designed to ignite your creativity, provide relaxation, and expand your understanding of cultural expressions of luck. Indulge in a selection of Korean snacks and beverages, enhancing your creative journey as you connect with students in a friendly, communal setting. Undergraduates with a keen interest in culture and art are also welcome to join us. Don't miss this chance to create, learn, and carry a piece of fortune with you in your very own 복주머니. Embrace this celebration of luck, creativity, and cultural exploration!

Hudson Relays
Another year has passed, which means another Hudson Relays race! For the uninitiated, Hudson Relays is CWRU’s oldest annual tradition and is still going strong today! It was initially started in 1910 to commemorate the relocation of the campus from Hudson, Ohio, to its current location in the University Circle area but has since grown to be loved and highly anticipated by students and alumni alike. We are recruiting runners and volunteers for the 114th Annual Hudson Relays which will take place on April 27th, 2024, from 10 am - 1 pm! Each Class year, including Grad students and Alumni, must recruit 50 runners for the race. If you are interested in representing our Class by running or volunteering this year in the Hudson Relays, please fill out the form in the QR code or click the link at the bottom of this passage. If you run or volunteer, you will receive a free Hudson Relays T-shirt, water bottle, breakfast, AND lunch! We are also getting suggestions for quotes on the T-shirt for our class and the commentator. So be sure to fill out the form! The class that wins the Hudson Relays will have their year engraved upon the rock outside the south wall of Adelbert Hall, which you may have seen. Wouldn’t it be so cool to see “graduate students” on that rock this year… Stay tuned for more details on Hudson Relays 2024, including information on how to access the live stream of the race day! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf59FRxQA55hBJXXoVKHLHCiyZbZgeVQzFZKkfv9DU4SXrzhA/viewform
