November General Assembly (GA) Meeting

The next GSC General Assembly (GA) meeting is on November 4, 2024, at Adelbert Hall, Toepfer Room (second-floor conference room). All students are welcome to attend. Graduate Student Council Representatives (Reps) are expected to attend all GA meetings.

LGBTQ+ Grad Student Mixer

Are you a CWRU grad student looking to connect with other LGBTQ+ professional students? Join the CWRU LGBT Center and the GSC DEI Board for an evening of mingling and eating at the LGBTQ+ Grad Mixer, on November 1, 5-7pm, at the Jolly Scholar.

November Happy Hour

Join the GSC on Friday, November 15, 2024, 7-9pm, at The Jolly Scholar, for our monthly happy hour! The first drink is on us for the first 100 grad students to join.
Notes:
- You can use your drink ticket for a milkshake instead of beer, wine, or well-liquor if drinks aren't your thing. Depending on the number of orders, milkshakes can take some time to be delivered.

Diwali 2024

Join us to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, on November 8th, 2024, at the Linsalata Alumni Center from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This event promises an evening filled with cultural richness and communal harmony. The festivities begin with the traditional lighting of oil lamps (diyas), symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Experience mesmerizing classical music and dance performances that showcase the profound heritage of Diwali. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the festival's atmosphere by wearing ethnic attire and exploring various stalls featuring Indian cuisine and sweets. The evening continues with vibrant performances, exciting games, and prizes, capped off with a lively session by our DJ. International Games Night

Join the Kelvin Smith Library on Wednesday, November 6th, 7-9pm in its annual celebration of International Games Month! This year, in addition to having our full board game library available to play (featuring some of our International board games), we will be bringing back JackBox, courtesy of the Big Games Club, and will also be introducing a new mini-event: Lotería at Night -- a Dungeons & Dragons one-shot, presented by the Role Playing Games Club. Bring your friends for a snack and a variety of games!

Tea and Chocolate Fall Delights

The Tea and Chocolate Club and the Graduate Student Council invite all graduate and professional students to a friendly, relaxing afternoon gathering. Join us on November 5, 3-5pm, in Thwing (2nd floor foyer, outside the ballroom)!

We will feature our usual offerings of tea and chocolate, plus hot chocolate, a mug-painting station, and other fun activities! This is a perfect opportunity to take a break from school and socialize with other students across campus.

Weatherheadless Masquerade Ball

 

๐ŸŽƒ Hello Graduate Students, join us for the Weatherheadless Masquerade Ball hosted by GBSA and co-sponsored by the GSC, on Friday, November 1, 8:00pm-Midnight at the Peter B. Lewis Building (PBL), promising a night full of fun, food, dancing, and much more!

We have a live DJ to keep the dance floor moving, a photo booth to capture your spooky memories, and a costume contest with amazing prizes: $100 gift card for the Best Group, $50 gift card each for Best Duo and Best Single Costume.

Leading up to the event, stop by our table on the main floor of PBL for free candy, mask decorating, and a chance to meet the GBSA exec board!

Poetry SLAM!

The annual America SCORES Cleveland Poetry SLAM! showcases the power of poetry and teamwork while celebrating the achievements of our elementary school students. We are looking for volunteers to help with the Poetry SLAM! This year's Slam is November 12th from 5-8pm, at the Waetjen Auditorium, Cleveland State University.
