SLGSA 2025 Spring DAY OUT
This event is the first official gathering of Sri Lankan graduate students at Case Western Reserve University in 2025, to strengthen connections and build a supportive community. GSAW Tea and Chocolate Tasting
In celebration of Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW), we are hosting a tea and chocolate tasting sponsored by the Office of Graduate Student Life! Open to all CWRU graduate and professional students. Attendees can sample a wide selection of teas (white, green, oolong, and black), and chocolates ranging from 50-90% cocoa. We will also have a range of fun games and activities!
Bring your friends or come and make new ones! Either way, you won’t want to miss our biggest event of the semester.

The Steiner House Cooperative
Steiner House is hosting its first-ever Clothing Swap, which is open to CWRU students and our other local university circle friends! The swap will be on March 29, 10am-2pm. We ask that you bring GENTLY USED CLOTHING ONLY and drop it off in bags on the front porch the week before. All extra clothing leftover from the swap will be donated to local clothing stores. This is a great way to participate in the circular economy and update your wardrobe sustainably!

CWRU Child Care Subsidy applications accepted April 1 through May 15
The university’s Child Care Subsidy Program will continue again in the 2026 fiscal year
for all eligible faculty, staff, postdocs and students. Those with children ages 6 and
under (as of July 1, 2025) are strongly encouraged to visit the Child Care Programs
website to learn more about the program and eligibility criteria.
Please note:
- The university will subsidize up to $2,000 per fiscal year to support the cost of childcare for children ages six and under of eligible faculty, staff, postdocs, and students. A family is limited to one subsidy per fiscal year.
- Parents must apply annually to receive the subsidy. The subsidy will be based on household-adjusted gross income.
- The application period begins Tuesday, April 1, 2025 and continues through Thursday, May 15, 2025. Applications will be made available on the Child Care Subsidy Program webpage beginning April 1. There will be two separate applications: one for faculty and staff; another for postdocs and students.

UCITE Friday: The Academic Job Search
To all graduate students and postdocs: Are you considering a future career in academia? Join UCITE and Aysegul Keskin Zeren from the CWRU Career Center for an interactive session on preparing for the academic job search. We'll begin with an exercise to help you clarify your career goals and explore the diverse landscape of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the U.S. This session will subsequently cover the research and teaching expectations across different HEIs, and provide strategies to make your job application stand out to future employers in the higher education sector. This session is designed for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in careers in higher education—whether in research, teaching, or leadership. American Red Cross Blood Drive March 25
