Dear Graduate Student,

This is the last newsletter you will receive this semester; however, we may still reach out through this email as needed for information, events, and school activities. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact the current executive board via gscinfo@case.edu until May 31st. After that date, the elected Executive Board will take over as the acting GSC Executive Board and will be available throughout the Summer.

\"\"This weekend: Hudson Relays

The GSC invites you to join the 115th Annual Hudson Relays, set to take place on April 26, 10am-1pm at the Case Quad (in front of Adelbert Hall)! The Hudson Relays stands as a testament to CWRU's rich history, dating back to 1910, when it marked the relocation of our campus to the vibrant University Circle area. Today, it remains a cherished event eagerly anticipated by students and alumni alike. It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase our class spirit and contribute to this long-standing tradition.

To represent the move, the race among classes is 26 miles long, the distance from Hudson, OH, (where the former campus was located) to University Circle. Each runner runs 0.5-mile legs, passing the baton to the next runner. If you want to join but are worried about running speed, don't be--the graduate students team is more about having fun and finishing the race!

The grad students team is still recruiting runners and volunteers for the race. As a runner or volunteer, you’ll receive a Hudson Relays T-shirt, water bottle, small breakfast, and lunch! Imagine the pride of seeing “CWRU Grads” engraved on the rock outside Adelbert Hall this year!

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to represent our class and make lasting memories. Please fill out this form to sign up as a runner or volunteer.

Check out this page for more history on the Hudson Relays!

Jane Austen's Bookshelf presented by Rebecca Romney

Kelvin Smith Library is joining a worldwide celebration of Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday! Rebecca Romney, author, and rare book dealer, will present based on her recently-released book "Jane Austen's Bookshelf: A Rare Book Collector's Quest to Find the Women Writers Who Shaped a Legend." In this book, Rebecca explores the lives and works of Austen’s favorite women writers, how they faded into obscurity, and deserve to be recognized. KSL also features a special exhibit to accompany the event, showcasing 18th and 19th-century books and manuscripts from the library’s extensive rare book collection. Attendees will see early editions and other significant works from her theoretical library– what would likely have appeared on Jane Austen’s bookshelf. Join us on Tuesday, April 22, 4pm, in person or via live stream! Register here: https://cglink.me/2cS/r2264576
