If you've spent any time in a professional small-talk setting, you know how often art comes up, and how easy it can be to fumble for an intelligent response. Unfortunately, the American education system teaches us very little (if anything) about art history, and often there are classist and elitist barriers that impede proper education…all this despite the role art plays in our political and social landscape, and despite its ability to trip you up in front of your future boss.

This workshop, Art Appreciation for New Professionals, is designed for people who have no idea what is happening when they walk into a museum—and people who avoid museums altogether—to teach you how to look at art, subsequently forming your own opinions and understandings that will allow you to hold up your side of the conversation. You'll learn how to navigate museums, keep up with art-related news, and identify key artists and movements.
