Fall Semester Coming to a Close 


New IFC/PHC Exec officers have been elected and are beginning transitions. As we say fairwell to the Outgoing Exec, we extend a gracious thank you from the Greek Life Office for all of their hard work and leadership during their term.

As the semester comes to a close, there are still a few events taking place in the GLO. Scroll to the bottom of the newsletter to learn more. We hope to see you there.

Res Life hiring

The Office of Residence Life is accepting applications for the Summer 2024 and Academic Year 2024-2025 Resident Assistant positions!

Would you like to make an impact and serve others around you within your residential community? Are you interested in gaining skills and experiences that will assist you beyond your time at CWRU? If so, apply today to be a Resident Assistant! Resident Assistants are undergraduate student employees who are immersed in the student residential community and create environments primed for learning that allow students to embrace challenges and shape communities.

Res Life Hiring ARCD

The Office of Residence Life is accepting applications for its 2024-2025 Graduate Staff positions!

Interested in gaining professional experience and skills that will assist you beyond your time as a graduate student? Would you like to be able to work and earn money while you're earning your graduate degree? Would you like to make an impact on students and the residential community at CWRU? If so, please apply to become a member of the Graduate Staff within Residence Life!

The Office of Residence Life has two graduate staff positions: the Assistant Residential Community Director role and the Graduate Resident Director role. Both positions are 10-month live-in roles that support the creation and facilitation of an integrated residential learning environment, working through the mission and goals of the Office of Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). Immersed in the student community, both the ARCD and GRD positions actively manage the learning experience at both the community and individual level, monitoring and supporting students' holistic academic, social, and personal development. Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate-level degree-seeking program at CWRU or a neighboring institution to be eligible for either of the Graduate Staff positions. There is no specific graduate program requirement.

A few important highlights:

Closing Dates and Times

All university-operated Greek houses will close on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. At that time, everyone must be out of the buildings and doors will be secured. Students are requested to depart within 24 hours of their last exam, whenever possible. The buildings will reopen on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 9 a.m.

The doors to the houses will be secured at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21. Unfortunately, we are not able to reopen the building for you if you discover you have left something behind. Be sure to pack carefully!

 

Students Leaving CWRU at End of Fall Semester 

Please notify the Office of University Housing by Friday, December 15, 2023, if you are not returning to CWRU next semester, via the appropriate form found online through MyHousing under the "Special Housing Requests" section.

Academic Status Change Form - Complete this form if you will not be living in the residence halls or Greek houses and are:
  • participating in an off-campus program (co-op, study abroad, internship, practicum, etc.)
  • taking a leave of absence
  • transferring to another school
  • withdrawing from CWRU
  • an exiting international exchange student
Checking Out of Your Room
  1. If you have a physical key, separate keycard, or key fob, drop these off at the Checkout Dropbox in Area Office. Be sure to fill in all the information on the checkout envelope.
  2. Drop the completed envelope in the Checkout Dropbox.
  3. Go onto MyHousing and complete the online self-checkout by Thursday, December 21 at 3 PM.
  4. Enter your mail forwarding address in MyHousing

If you do not complete the checkout instructions, you could be billed for that housing assignment for the Spring semester and could be charged an Improper Checkout fee. 

Meal plans will automatically be canceled for Spring 2024. For questions about Case Cash, please contact Auxiliary Services at mealplan@case.edu

Community Standards 

Don't forget: Community Standards Deadline is December 8th. 


 

Google Files Shared By Suspended Users will be Deleted Soon

In order to free up storage in Google Workspace, on February 1, 2024, the Google accounts of anyone who has had no active affiliation with the university for more than 6 months as of that date will be deleted. This applies to faculty, staff, affiliates, etc. who have left the university and as a result no longer have any active affiliation with the university. This also applies to alumni who no longer have an active university Google Workspace account.

As you transition into new roles, or graduate, retain any important files that might be owned by suspended accounts or stored in a Shared drive scheduled for deletion.

Greek Show was nothing short of amazing and fun! A huge shoutout to every single chapter that came out and performed. You Rock.
