SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Mocktail Hour & Networking Training - International Student Success Series
LOCATION:Tomlinson Hall Lobby, 10900 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44106, United States
URL:https://community.case.edu/rsvp?id=495595
DESCRIPTION:Part of finding the best job for you is attending networking events, mixers, and cocktail hours where you can meet new people and make contacts. \nEmployers want to know their employees can be professional, even in social situations, but networking events can be difficult to navigate. Learning Western expectations of politeness can help you feel more comfortable in unfamiliar situations, and mastering networking customs can help you make a great impression on others!\n\nAll CWRU international students are invited to join the Center for International Affairs and Post-Graduate Planning and Experiential Education for an event to do just that!\n\nAttendees of the Mocktail Hour and Networking Training will receive hands-on training from etiquette consultant Catherine Holloway and will be served passed hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic drinks to provide an opportunity to practice the skills learned during the training.\n\nThe event will take place in the Tomlinson Hall Lobby and will begin promptly at 4:00 pm. \n\nAttendees should wear business professional attire, as described in this article: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/starting-new-job/guide-to-business-attire\n\nRegistration note:\nBy registering to attend this event, you are committing to attend, arrive on time and stay for the duration of the event. This event was created to help you learn how to conduct yourself professionally in social situations, especially those related to your career. Failing to attend an event or appointment which you have committed to attend is considered discourteous and inappropriate as there is extensive planning involved in these events. Of course, we understand that true emergencies, though rare, do occur. These situations require prompt notification via CampusGroups or by calling our office at 216-368-2517. However, changing your mind about attending the event at the last minute is not considered an emergency. \n\nCancellation & Refunds:\nRefunds will be given to students who cancel their registration in CampusGroups and request a refund by Friday, September 13, 2019 - no refunds will be given after this deadline\n\nIf, after the cancellation deadline, you realize you cannot attend, please email International Student Services or call Elizabeth Miller at 216-368-2571.\n---\nEvent Details: https://community.case.edu/rsvp?id=495595
