Friday Meetings: The Significance of the Crucifixion

The theme of this semester is understanding the significance of the crucifixion of Jesus. The cross of Jesus is an essential element of the Christian faith, yet the phrase "Jesus died for you" has become rote, even for Christians. Why did Jesus die? How does that actually impact reality and my life? We hope these answers will compel us, especially Christians, to love like Jesus (sacrificially through God's Spirit) and not like the world (selfishly in our strength).
