Busy, Busy, Busy

Can you believe that it’s already November? Hopefully, everybody was able to enjoy their fall break and get some much needed rest. This month is bringing colder temperatures, Thanksgiving break, and the final weeks of the semester before finals. Your workload is probably ramping up so this newsletter will be all about connecting you to the resources that can help you complete those final assignments. You’ll receive one more Library Advisor Newsletter before the semester is over so be on the lookout for those tips and tricks to make it through finals.

In this month’s newsletter we highlight the library’s Zen Zone, AskKSL, and the KSL Instruction Hub. We also share some of our upcoming events where we hope to see you!

The Spaces of KSL

If you find yourself in need of a mental break or some quiet relaxation, visit our Zen Zone! Located on the first floor of KSL by Cramelot Cafe and our Leisure Reading collection, this area is specifically designed to provide students with opportunities to take meaningful breaks and reinvigorate their minds and bodies. Students can engage in chair stretches, coloring pages, puzzles, games, complete gratitude journaling, plan their day with task lists, and "take what you need" encouragement cards.

You may see a button saying Ask A Librarian or Get Research Help throughout the library website, like the home page, the research tab, in the A-Z list of databases, and several other places. Whether you’re struggling to find a specific article, need help finding the right combination of keywords, or have a question about citations, this button connects you with a librarian who has the answers. There are several options for contacting a librarian, based on your preference and our availability.

Library How To's

Another place to find all of the answers to your library questions is the KSL Instruction Hub! This is a great resource full of helpful tutorials and guides on how to use the library and its resources. If you ever need a quick refresher on how to find and check out books, locate the best source in a database, avoid plagiarism, and other topics check out the KSL Instruction Hub. These tutorials offer step-by-step guides and general overviews to answer any questions you may have.
