Celebrate Open Access Month!

Participate in open access by sharing your scholarly work, meeting federal public access requirements, and increasing your research impact.

In honor of Open Access Month, Kelvin Smith Library encourages CWRU Faculty to deposit one scholarly artifact in Scholarly Commons. Submission is simple through the online portal or by emailing scholarlycomm@case.edu!

Why submit? CWRU’s Faculty OA Policy lets faculty share peer-reviewed work in Scholarly Commons, increasing visibility and citations while boosting research impact.

CWRU authors can publish open access at no cost in select journals through several publisher agreements.

Pro Tip: Learn about alternative no-cost options and funding possibilities for CWRU researchers at researchguides.case.edu/oadeals

Get support from librarians and stay up to date about Public Access Requirements for federally funded research at researchguides.case.edu/publicaccess

Pro Tip: Sharing your work in Scholarly Commons, CWRU's institutional repository, might meet requirements by offering open access publishing without article processing charges (APCs), while gaining more visibility and citations.

Get started with ORCID iD so that your research stays visible and connected to you throughout your career.  Visit researchguides.case.edu/orcid to learn how to register and optimize its use.

Pro Tip: Select Case Western Reserve University as your affiliation to connect to the official Research Organization Registry. Read more specifics from Provost Ward.
