KSL Library Advisor Newsletter

April / May 2025

Welcome to your final issue of the KSL Library Advisor Newsletter!

Congratulations, you’re almost done with your first year at Case Western Reserve University! During these final few weeks you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed or stressed as the semester wraps up. Don’t forget that the library and your librarians are here to help you finish strong. We hope that this newsletter was helpful during your first year at CWRU and built a strong foundation for your future research career!

The Spaces of KSL

KSL will offer 24 hour access during finals this semester! From Friday, April 25 to Wednesday, May 7 the library will be open 24 hours a day. The library has many different spaces and types of seating to fit your needs, whatever they may be. You can even reserve specific spaces, like individual quiet study rooms or collaboration rooms. You can find more information about our hours here.

If you're tired of academic texts, check out the leisure reading collection in KSL directly across from Cramelot Cafe. This collection is provided by Cleveland Public Library and you can check items out using your Cleveland Public Library Card which all CWRU students are eligible for! You can find more information about getting a library card here.

Featured Service

Most of the time the full text of a journal article is available directly from the database you’re searching in. However, sometimes they just list the citation and no access to the full text. It’s nice to know that the article exists but what if you actually want to read it? That’s the perfect time to use our eJournals Portal!

The eJournals Portal provides comprehensive information on all of our periodicals subscriptions. By searching the name of the journal the article was published in you can check all of the access points and see what years we have available. If you still can’t get access to the specific article you were looking for you can always request a copy through InterLibrary Loan.

Library How To’s

Don't forget that you can always set up a research appointment with a librarian. Appointments are offered both in-person and virtually through Zoom. Librarians can help you during any point in the research process, whether you need help narrowing down your topic, finding sources, or integrating those sources into your own research. We’d love to hear from you!
