    Welcome back to your second semester at Case Western! We asked students what they did over winter break and got some great responses as you can see from the picture to the right. Next time you’re in the library check out the whiteboards on the first floor, lower level, and third floor and record your own response!

     Last semester you were introduced to the library and some of its resources but this spring you'll learn about even more that KSL has to offer. In this month’s newsletter we highlight the Kulas Music Collection in the library, tell you a little bit about OhioLink, and provide help for requesting books from around the world!

The Spaces of KSL

Did you know KSL has a music collection?

The Kulas Music Collection sits on the first floor of KSL, just past the Clapp Reading Room. Its materials include browsable recordings, music scores, and books on music subjects ranging from Bach to Bebop. Content can be located in our online catalog, and is available for checkout by all members of the CWRU community, with the exception of reference items (identified with yellow tags). Contact our music librarian, Jacey Kepich, for assistance!

Did you know that you have access to millions of books throughout the state of Ohio? The OhioLINK consortium of 88 colleges and universities around the state enables you to get books from all of these other libraries! Check out this quick tutorial from our KSL Canvas page to find out how to request a book online and have it delivered to the CWRU library of your choice for you to check out. You can also search the OhioLink catalog here.

Library How To’s

Finding sources for your research should be the hard part, accessing them should be easy. Even if an article or book isn’t available through KSL, no fear, we can still help you. By creating an Interlibrary Loan account and submitting a request, you have access to the collections of libraries around the world (but don’t forget to check our great state through OhioLink first).
