Welcome back to your second semester at CWRU! It’s been a snowy start to the semester so far but hopefully you’re staying safe and warm. Don’t forget, the library is a great place to take a break, grab a warm drink, and avoid the chill in between classes. Last semester you were introduced to the library and some of its resources but you’ll likely find yourself discovering even more this spring!

In this month’s newsletter we highlight the Kulas Music Collection, a reference mangement service called Zotero, and Interlibrary Loan!

Spaces of KSL

Did you know that within KSL’s collections there’s a specific area for our items about music? The Kulas Music Collection is housed on the first floor of KSL, past the computers and study areas. It features a robust CD collection, as well as 10 ranges of shelving with musical scores, and books about music theory and history. These items can also be looked up in our online catalog and if you have any questions you can contact our music librarian, Jacey Kepich!

Featured Service

Finding sources for your research should be the hard part and accessing them should be easy. Even if the book or article you need isn't available directly from KSL, no fear, we can still help! By creating an Interlibrary Loan account and submitting a request, you have access to the collections of libraries around the world. But don’t forget to check the collections of our great state through OhioLink first!

Library How To’s

Zotero allows you to “collect, organize, cite, and share your research sources” with just the click of a button. It’s a great tool for organizing your sources, collecting your notes, and even building citations/bibliographies (but don't forget to double-check them for mistakes!). Check out our Research Guide on Zotero to get started and answer any questions you may have.
