Welcome to the October 2021 issue of the Library Advisor Tips & Notes newsletter!
As we approach the mid-point of the Fall semester, be assured that your Library Advisor is ready to help you take full advantage of KSL’s many student-focused support services and resources if needed. This month we wanted to let you know about KSL’s multimedia center, how to get help with computer issues, resources for daily news, and something fun to do when you need a study break.
KSL Spaces
Located on the first floor of Kelvin Smith Library, the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship features a variety of multimedia equipment, workstations and software applications that can enhance your academic creativity. The Center also features a Collaboration Commons area available for individual or group work.
Library How To’s
Having issues with your laptop? KSL’s UTech C.A.R.E. Center and Ingenuity Bar on the basement floor of the library is the place to go!
The CWRU Utech on-site team at KSL is available for walk-up technical support, computer repairs, and for consultations about any immediate technology-related questions or needs you may have.

Did you know that you have free online access to The New York Times?
KSL provides campus-wide digital access to NYT news coverage, including all of your favorite extras from the Sunday edition like the NYT Book Review and Magazine. You can sign up for access from this KSL page.
Interested in reading NYT news coverage from decades past, perhaps as part of a research project? KSL provides the complete online, searchable archive of the NYT clear back to the first issue in 1851. You can explore the New York Times Historical archive, along with many other news resources on this page from our KSL database list.
KSL Happenings
Need a break and want to do something fun? Our KSL gamers have designed an entertaining mystery for you to solve!
Check out KSL’s Fall 2021 Virtual Escape Room adventure set in the English countryside. Work through puzzles and follow clues to find out who is the rightful heir of Pembroke Castle!
